Oil and Gas Overview: Wichita County, Texas

Wichita County, Texas is a producer of oil and natural gas. Around 17 drilling permits were issued in the County in 2024. Besides oil and gas drilling, there are other impactful activities such as pipeline construction, oil and gas trucking, natural gas flaring, and the like. What’s that odd smell in the air? Hopefully not Hydrogen Sulfide. It’s a potentially deadly gas that is sometimes found around oil and gas wellsites.
