Earth Resource Guardian Foundation is committed to making donations easy and fair.

We have a policy of no recurring donations.

Ethical Donation Practices are Essential for Non-Profit Organizations.

Many Non-Profit Organizations will boast about a “Donor’s Bill of Rights”. It sounds virtuous, but most items found in the “Donor’s Bill of Rights” are required by law to maintain non-profit status with the IRS.

ERGF believes non-profit organizations should go beyond the minimum required by law to protect donors.

ERGF has a policy against monthly, recurring donations. Your decision to donate is a thoughtful, intentional decision and the donation, of any size, matters to us. By eliminating recurring donations, the donor will not be automatically “billed” for a donation every month, in perpetuity.

Through our own personal experience, we’ve found that recurring donations are easy to forget, hard or awkward to cancel, and can create financial hardships on people, especially in the event of death or incapacity of the donor. While ERGF could be losing donation dollars, we believe automatic, recurring donations is not a fair practice. Should a donor really want to donate on a recurring basis, we believe it is best to discuss personally.

Even if you choose to direct your donation dollars to another organization, please be cautious about recurring donations, which could be as easy to enter into as checking a small box, but not nearly so easy to get out of.

Aside from this commitment, ERGF does abide by the items found in common “Donor’s Bill of Rights” programs. If you have any concerns with our donation program, or would like to request any information that we are required by law to provide, please email donate@ergf.org or call us at (817) 717-5452.

Thank you for considering ERGF with your donation dollars.
