Our Vision: Natural resource development with a greater regard to our water resources, plant and animal life, and clean air and skies.
WE ENVISION clean and plentiful water. A healthy ecosystem for plant and animal life. Clean air for all to breathe. And dark skies for all to be able to marvel at the stars above.
There are many organizations with similar visions, though ERGF’s mission is unique.

More about our Vision
We are still dependent on fossil fuels.
The fact is, our country is still reliant on fossil fuels, and likely will be for a considerable time. While some may argue that we should just “shut off the taps” to reduce our environmental impact, we believe responsible domestic production is more prudent.
Out of major oil producing countries, the United States is one of the cleanest. From Ambient Air Pollution metrics alone, the United States far outperforms all OPEC countries. And while ambient air pollution is not solely caused by oil and gas production, we believe it is indicative of a general disregard by these countries as to the effects of industrial pollution.
How ERGF is different.
While some non-profit organizations own mineral rights, typically through a donor gift, most of these organizations use the minerals solely as a source of income to fund their other programs. Noble as they may be, we believe these organizations are missing a huge opportunity.
ERGF if one of few, if any, non-profit organizations with a focus on the preservation and stewardship of mineral resources.
How we do it.
By controlling mineral rights, we can set the terms on which our resources are developed. ERGF legal staff has worked on both sides of the negotiating table, and know what to ask for when an oil company wishes to develop our minerals. We’re not looking for top dollar…we are looking for adequate environmental safeguards, insurance and indemnity, plugging assurances, and more.
We also reach our Vision with our other programs, such as wellsite environmental inspection, research and development of educational materials, and giving forward to those with aligned interests.

Our vision is dependent on donations of mineral and royalty rights, though monetary donations support our Projects as well.
