ERGF Achieves GuideStar Platinum Certification

ERGF is proud to announce that we have earned “Platinum Transparency” certification from Candid (formerly known as GuideStar), one of the leading independent non-profit research and review organizations.

Platinum Transparency is the highest recognition by Candid, just above the Gold Transparency certification that ERGF achieved in 2024 and 2025.

While Candid does not provide yearly statistics of the number of organizations that qualify for each level of certification, a 2021 article published by Candid indicates that only 5% of more than 1.7 million US non-profits even qualify for any level of certification. Of this 5%, only 15% achieve Platinum Certification, the highest honor.

Using those metrics, ERGF’s Platinum Certification places us in the Top 1% of US non-profit organizations. It shows our commitment to Transparency, to our mission, and to our grassroots mindset.

ERGF is proud to go beyond the legally required minimum, which so many non-profits flout as being transparent. Our Governance Page is proof of our commitment to show Donors that they can trust us. There, you can review past tax returns and read our internal governing documents and policies. This type of transparency goes beyond what groups like Candid require as well (that is, it is not required to achieve Platinum Certification). We believe it’s just the right thing to do.
