Oil and Gas Overview: Harrison County, Texas
Harrison County, Texas is a prolific producer of natural gas. Over 130 drilling permits were issued in the County in 2024 alone. Besides oil and gas drilling, there are other environmentally impactful activities such as pipeline construction, oil and gas trucking, natural gas flaring, and the like. What’s that odd smell in the air? Hopefully not Hydrogen Sulfide…It’s a deadly gas that is sometimes found around oil and gas wellsites.
