Earth Resource Guardian Foundation Filed IRS Tax Returns

ERGF believes in earning the trust of the public, and being transparent to our donors and prospective donors. To that end, we make available many of our internal governing documents and our filed tax returns.

The IRS provides that “In general, exempt organizations must make available for public inspection certain annual returns and applications for exemption, and must provide copies of such returns and applications to individuals who request them. Copies usually must be provided immediately in the case of in-person requests, and within 30 days in the case of written requests. The tax-exempt organization may charge a reasonable copying fee plus actual postage, if any.”

Thus, while every non-profit must provide their tax returns upon request, ERGF believes in going beyond the bare minimum. Below, please find our filed tax returns. No request needed, and no copying fees required.

As a grassroots organization, we typically file a tax return on IRS Form 990-N, as our gross receipts normally under $50,000.00 We do not have any six-figure, high overhead executives, nor do we engage in lobbying activities or even receive governmental grants. By not having to file Form 990-EZ or Form 990, we are able to prepare and file our tax returns in-house, thus avoiding any third party preparation costs. This means more of your donation dollars go to fund our core programs, not overhead.

Unlike the big non-profits, we don’t have executives making $400,000 per year. We don’t hire expensive outside fundraising companies. We don’t have a lobbying arm. We believe in grassroots. And every dollar matters to us.
